Bells and cushions

Kiesu

This is a hand made Japanese Keisu bell, this comes with striker (traditional lacquer ware),  and embroidered silk cushion. This is used for chanting Okyo, this one is small enough for home use, but just big enough for temple use.

As a Buddhist bell for services it is therefore made from hammered bronze, and lacquered over, this is a custom from China where originally they didn't favour bare metal, so the appearance is distinct from Tibetan bells which are usually left raw. In Japan and China these bells and the finishing techniques on them and their furniture reached a high art just like the Samurai sword. This is Japanese made.

The tone is quite deep and very beautiful.

FREE Chinese style stand also lacquered included.
